Lisa Byington is the first female PxP talent we've had on #PxPCast. Starting her career in local television, Byington began working with the B1G Network early on and has since climbed the network's ladder in addition to her work with FS1, ESPN and starting this March CBS and Turner Sports on the NCAA Tournament.
Byington joins the pod to talk about women breaking through in play-by-play and what her journey has been like climbing the ranks. She also discusses being part of the FS1 broadcast this year in which both coaches were mic'd up the entire game and no commercial breaks were taken.

Bob Joyce worked his way up from a producer to a pre- and postgame host and sideline reporter to become the pxp voice of the Connecticut women's basketball team. He's now been to nine Final Fours and called two winning streaks of 90 and 102 games. It's been quite the ride. Bob breaks down what it's been like to broadcast all of that from his courtside seat.

Dave Ryan holds the distinguished? role of being both a guest on this podcast and also one of host Joel Godett's college professors. Dave taught Joel's TV Sports Reporting course when both were at Syracuse. Okay, maybe that's not the most distinguished thing in the world. But what is pretty outstanding is Dave's career that spans CBS Sports Network, ESPN and Westwood One radio. While at ESPN Dave was the voice of prfoessional bowling and of collegiate lacrosse, broadcasting the Final Four until his departure for CBS in 2009. Since jumping to CBS Sports Network Dave has called a variety of sports including college football and basketball and has dug back into his bowling and lacrosse roots.

Rich Chvotkin has served as the Voice of the Hoyas since the early 1970's and stands as one of the longest tenured broadcasters across college basketball. Since 1986 Rich has worked solo on he air and also is a practcing medical professional all the while working on press row. Rich talks changes in the radio business and in basketball and recalls some of his favorite memories of the Hoyas and the Thompsons through the years. Ed Cohen has called virtually any sport you can think of. That list includes a gig calling weightlifting at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Ed and Joel break down the prep for calling a sport you don't know and what it's like calling games from a studio. Ed's experience includes the Olympics and other international experience like the KHL and Japanese baseball league. Domestically Ed can be seen calling college basketball on CBS Sports Network after a lengthy stint as the Voice of the Manhattan Jaspers and Rutgers Scarlet Knights women's basketball team. Mike Couzens and myself go back a little ways. We first met as national delegates in high school at the Conference on National Affiars in North Carolina. CONA was the pinnacle for any member of YMCA Youth & Government program. So we met there and then again in college and then again in the professional ranks. Now we're here on this podcast talking about Mike's life and job and what the heck Sports Breakfast is.
